Welcome to the Ystradgynlais Public Band website!
The Band rehearses twice a week at Sardis Chapel Vestry opposite the Ynyscedwyn Arms in Ystradgynlais. 
We meet on Sundays and Wednesdays from 7:15 to 9:00. 
Our beginners meet from 6:00 to 7:00pm on Wednesdays.
In addition to the usual concerts, fetes and competitions that we perform at, there is also a social side to the Band.  By exploring our website, you will be able to find out about some of these activities.
The Band has made around 300 public appearances since this website was launched in February 2000.

We're  looking for new members following our promotion at the end of 2009.  We have vacancies in the cornet, horn and trombone sections but we would welcome anyone looking to play with the Band in any section.  The band is also being conducted by one of our players, so we'd also love to hear from you if you're up to the challenge of providing the Band with some musical direction!  Please visit our Join the Band page to find out more.

Geocities closure!

Following the closure of Geocities in 2009, this is our new website!  The old website is still available at http://ystradband.com/original, but almost all of the links are broken!  If you're looking for a particular page, it should still be available but the address has changed.  For example, our feature on Ross's 80th birthday has moved from geocities.com/ystradband/rossparty to ystradband.com/rossparty.
